World of warcraft alpha was leaked. get your copy at www.suprnova.org. there isnt any private servers yet but i think the guys at warforge is making one. The beta signups for the official alpha had been closed a while ago and i missed it im downloading world of warcraft right now with 255 hours left to go

17 hours till its done now, i think theres a private server with no npc or quests for exploring the maps or something sound good.

4 hours left, I went to warforge website and it has a download call wowpatch, it says that it lets you bypass the login on startup of the alpha, and access the menu. and another download call abyss server: A World of Warcraft Server emulator that can also be used as a sandbox. I dont know what a sandbox is, but maybe it means that someone can make a private server on their own?

edit: allright i read the forums and it lets you own a server it has some spells but no monsters

edit 2: yay i found instructions for the private server thinger emulator maybe CM can host a WoW server? (copied and paste from another post --->)

Ok so much misinformation and confusion... thought this was pretty easy, but I will take you through it step by step.

Get the Abyss.rar from wherever you can (I dont know the sites)
Extract it (maybe using winrar) so the Abyss.exe goes into the WoW directory containing WoWClient.exe
Get the WoWClient Crack program.
Run the WoWClient Crack program.

Now... you have Abyss installed and are ready to run as a client to someone elses machine or to your own sandbox/server.

Connecting to someone elses server.
1) DO NOT RUN Abyss.exe (you dont need it)
2) Run WoWClient.exe (if it comes up with an error saying something like this must be started by the updater, then you failed in cracking the WoWClient)
3) On the first screen hit the console key (us keyboards it is the ~ key - upper left)
4) Find the ip of the server that you want to connect to (i.e. for this example 12.24.36.48)
5) type (without the quotes) in the console and then hit enter: "realmlist 12.24.36.48"
6) Hit the Change Realm button.
Thats it (if you get an error, then either the server ip you typed isnt up, or you did the realmlist console cmd incorrectly)

Creating a sandbox for you to play in (and just you and you alone) - thats what a sandbox is - 1 person only
1) Run Abyss.exe
2) Hit Start Server Button
3) Hit the Start Client Button (or run WoWClient.exe on your own)
4) Follow the above instructions for connecting to someone else's server but use the ip 127.0.0.1 (not your ip that you think you have... use 127.0.0.1)
5) You should be able to enter the game (if not, you didnt hit the start server button) or you didnt change the realmlist correctly

Creating a server for you and others to play with (probably the most confusing)
1) Run Abyss.exe
2) Hit the Options Button
3) Put in your ip address (not 127.0.0.1) that others see your machine as in the bottom box. If you are just planning on playing with local machines, you can put your local machine address there (i.e. 192.168.0.1). If you are behind a firewall, make sure port routing is enabled to your server machine, and you would put in the ip address of your firewall/router. I'm not going into detail here how to do that...
4) Hit Start Server
5) Others can connect to your machine by putting your ipaddress in their realmlist cmd on the console.
6) You can connect on the server machine by putting in loopback (127.0.0.1) - not your external ip address.
Side note: some firewalls/routers wont allow you to access your external ip address from internal on the network, so you may not be able to play with local machines and external machines. You can always, however, play on localhost (the same machine as the server is running on) and either of the other 2 (internal lan or external lan).

Abyss is both a sandbox and a multiplayer server. You get to configure it how you want it to run. All of the commands listed in the instructions are NOT console commands. They are chat commands that you type in the chat window. To open a chat window, while in the game, just hit .

In particular the !spawn command has the following format:
!spawn xxxx name

xxxx must be a 4 digit number. Name is the name that you want to give to the monster (not a predefined name of a monster or model).

Some nice codes for xxxx are: 1126, 1125, 0148, 0180, 0170, 1204, 0814, 0621, 1825, 0479, 1540, 1955

No- I dont know the dragon code.

If you still can't get it to work after following these instructions and those provided in the instructions.txt file, you DONT DESERVE TO PLAY... PERIOD

Finished downloading, and now unraring and installing. Might make a sandbox server and take a few screenshots. just found out CM has the client too and hes unraring yay
