Ok so I get the infamous "Blue screen of Death" every now and then. I just end up restarting the computer and everything is fine until the next time it happens. the only information on the screen that is something other than something to the extent of: "I don't know what you did, but your broke SOMEthing, so i'm going to make this counter at the bottom go to 100 and spend 15min doing so and then I'll decide to reboot for you, you idiot" is the line "Bad_Pool_Caller" (not sure if those are the correct placements of the underscores)

the only thing i was doing was switching desktops using microsoft's virutal desktop power toys thing (very cool feature).
other than that, i had watched two flash movies, and my computer used to just reboot itself after watching a seemingly random alotment of Flash.

in conclusion, my computer is wierd and needs help, anyone know what's going on?

Intel Pentium 4 3.20GHz CPU
1 GB RAM
80GB Hard Drive (unknown manufacturer)
Windows XP Professional Edition SP2 (I've been told that SP2 was not installed correctly, but i'm not entirely sure that is true)

Do a virus/spyware scan, and check your processes, Alt+CTRL+DEL/DELETE > Processes Tab. See if any of them processos look out of place.

I'm guessing this is another one of those runtime errors, where some of your processes just seriously hate you and crashed a thread, leading to more crashes and thus giving you this BSOD

I suggest a viral scan, and then a spyware check, just to make sure there aren't any malicious tools and/or sources attacking your computer

somewhere around 5min before i posted that post

i had just finished watching some videos online; they might have bee Flash for all i know. they were are google's video site. maybe my computer just can't do vidoes >.>

What seems to be the problem, though, is that your computer is trying to free memory located at memory address 0x024C0001 that was already freed.

I would presume it's either a broken program (perhaps you need to update FireFox to make sure there's no bugs or whatnot) or perhaps a broken driver.

To see if a driver might be broken or whatnot, right-click My Computer, go into Properties, then the Hardware tab and hit the "Device Manager" button. This will list all of the hardware in your computer that Windows uses. If you see anything with a yellow circle with an exclaimation mark in it next to it, right-click it and select "Uninstall." If there are none listed, it might be just how Windows is handling the driver. If you uninstalled any devices, reboot.

After this, I'd recommend uninstalling any programs that you think might be conflicting with drivers or Windows memory (ie - perhaps you are running a tool to optimize your RAM or whatnot). Also, update any programs you can.

Of course, I recommend ending all of this by scandisking by going into My Computer, right-clicking your main drive (usually C:), going into properties and then the tools tab and hitting "Check for Errors". Check both boxes in here and hit Start; it'll most likely say something about having to run the scan the next time you install - hit "Yes" and then reboot. Windows will run CHKDSK (the new version of ScanDisk) before Windows itself even boots so that it can scan everything.

If it still fails after this, I'd say backup your stuff and reformat

IE6 is full of bugs - stop using it.
IE7 will be out soon with alot of fixes.

Until then, I recommend switching to Firefox, Opera, or another browser.

It's not necessarily buggy, I apologize; there are many holes and exploits that can be done with it, though. (namely ActiveX is a big hole almost in and of itself, but FireFox makes the user permit components that may be harmful)
