Plot and storyline are very important for some games but a really good game engine with great controls are also important. Take The Thing for Xbox. It is horrible. The plot is cool. the atmosphere is cool ( no pun intended) but the controls SUCK!! They suck the crome off a trailer hitch. Can't run and shoot. You are FORCED to stand there in one SPOT while shooting at your opponents (ALIENS!!!

) who run around you like your an idiot. The critters are neat and the base looks like the movie (down to the saucer hiden under a shed) but the controls make the game nearly unplayable.
on the other hand I have a really old game called Killing Time. It is very low graphic wise (barely above 8 bit) but it is intertaining because you have to play it in a dark room. The lighting in the game makes it so anything out side a 12-20 foot radis is lost in shadow or is a barly persepatable movement in the dark. don't play it often but it is a nice change form flash and glitz (not that theres anything wrong with that

) of the games that rely on them for game play.
