What sort of encoding was QRro made out of C++ or something else? Plus what program did you use to edit sprites and things. I would like to know becouse i love making games and making one like this is what i have olways wanted to do. So if i know ill know where to start as for classes and things. Thx

I said im taking classes and i wanted to make a game like this meaning start from scratch with a few friends and make a MMORPG like this sort of thing. As of now i would have no clue of how to do wut you just said. I asked becouse i want to know what classes to attend. I even said that in my last post. Every time i ask someone who made a game wut they used they dont awnser me becouse they think im going to do something bad when i have no clue how i could if im asking so that i can take classes on it. -_-

so what was used to make qrRO i was thinking on taking classes in C++ but im not posotive if thats what is used even though im pretty shur it is.

...C++ is good to know for programming anyway. I'd say learn it if you have the time. I'd love to.

Ok so i know its not C++ and i will prolly take classes on it anyway but if its not C++ then i have no clue wut else it could be...so what is it then becouse it not being C++ makes no sense. But yet iv not taken classes on it yet im just going by expeirence with friends.

you need to learn it and not from your friends =/ if you learn it yourself then you can stay on track with them instead of being confoosed

Well talk to CM about that hehe sorry were not allowed to give away infomation bout the server. but if you want to change ur sprites you can always use GRF factory. then use a sprite converter. and MSpaint or any paint programs

qrRO is only server side, to be honest.
The servers are coded in C (not C++) and MySQL.
The client software is made by Gravity; they used C++ and DirectX...sorta. They purchased all of the RAD Gaming Tools so they barely had to really program anything.

The MMORPG Engine I am coding currently is written in C++ and I am using these libraries: SDL, SDL_Net, SDL_ttf, OpenAL, OpenGL, and Ogg Vorbis. I'm actually hard coding this rather than using all of the funny tools Gravity uses, so it'll be alot better.

the client is largely hexed
(btw an example of VISUAL C++ can be see when you create a macro in Word, then try to 'edit' it. THAT my friend is visual C++ you're seeing there, though i would have mistaken it for C...)

Ok thanks now the hard part is finding classes this part of the year... the tech school only does summer courses so i might have to wait till summer. Unless you know a good program thats free off of online or something. But C++ will be what ill take then. Cool your the first person to tell me what the game is made of usualy they say exactly what dopemeister said...
