I've recently been reading into security encryption and such so that I might be able to toss a nice online store in this site.

My idea, currently, is to sell custom computers. The only topic that arises, though, is that would you be interested in buying one?

I know a good turnaround for a computer is approximately 5 years or so (meaning you'll be buying a new one about every 5 years), so I believe most of you on this forum will be needing a new one sometime in the near future.

comments? questions?

And yes, they will be reasonable priced. I built one for my parents recently and saved them a good $300 ~ $500 ^_^

(Maybe I'll have a thing where you get a free game or QR sticker or something with each order?)

I'll try to see if I can get a script to generate shipping to various zip codes and such when I do make the little store.

Nonetheless, do you have any suggestions on what I should do, since you will be the ones buying them ;)
for example, prefer black, white, silver, etc. cases or AMD vs Intel, ATi vs nVidia, and so on.

It's a nice idea A-man but....
You have to attend to some legal crap.
Not only that, you might get 'too many orders' in a single instance.
None the less, you should be able to.. if you had a little more advertisement...
Word of mouth would be the strongest.

for specs... just the minimal gaming specs
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
ATI Radeon 8400+
1024mb Dual-Channel DDR, PC3200
200~300 GB HDD, 7200rpm
100/10 Ethernet network card is a must
DVD-RW 48x ROM
4 USB ports
2 USB-2 ports
headphone/mic sockets in the front of course

ATi's suck first of all, second the "8400+" is OLD

nVidia 6600, or 6800 or cheap end, 7800 for high end i say!

Already doing that a bit; have a few forms I need to fill out here soon, but I plan on calling a few places concerning that as well.

Anyway, I do plan on adding this to the site; perhaps having 3 various models, perhaps a laptop and a few other things. (Maybe a media center PC?)

I also plan on letting you choose if you want an OS or not (such as buying a computer without an OS, Win XP Home, Win XP Pro, and/or Linux on it). And yes, you'd get the actually OS CD; none of this "backup CD" crap.

I have most of it setup in my mind, just have to actually go and code it and get my business registered.

I probably wouldn't buy a computer from an underground company type thing. Maybe once you get more popular and I hear good things about you and stuff. :P

But you should definatly start and see if you're successful with it.
