Power suits? Maybe if it was more like the actual GI Joe. Hollywood seems to think people won't enjoy a super hero movie unless there's some kind of godly robotic technologies involved.

I caught the 3:00pm GMT showing at my local.
I was entertained, Marlon waynes did add a comical aspect to it but tbh it wasn't heavy like normal it was subtle goofy.
Josiph gordon levit errr......... (OVERACTED) cobra commander just a tad with the deep gurff fready kruger voice that only got worse by the end of the film
Christpher ecclson well he did his part okish but you need to watch da movie.

Oh and brendon frasier made a camio in the movie as one of the sargents in the pit, he was in the movie less then 5 mins but i guess he got a part cos of the director, same as the guy who plays Zartan.

guys good movie not bad atall but plot is very MGS+x-men+team america cos you can pritty much see all 3 in this one movie.
much of G.I.Joes weapons seem to be stolen from a ton of films, even cobra have sonic weapons that during the first fireing of the "HUGE" sonic beam it makes a TRON derez sound effect. (listen for it)

well i knew n had a feeling it was gonna be a lot of cheese but i wanted to catchh it before it got slated by the critics and atleast have my own opinion on if the movie was good or not.
If i'm entertained it's a good movie
I was entertained.

thats my theory on movies.
i don't look to deeply in to how corny n fake the CGI looks
i won't turn around n slag the plot off if it makes clear sence to me
i will not be a mytar and turn around and tell people not to see this movie if i enjoyed it.

I did enjoy it, yes it was basicly team america / metal gear / james bond / x-men / transformers & many other titles all squished in to a package.
but it's a show that is to promote a toy brand and it always has been just like transformers is.
I'm just trippin balls they won't make a care bear live action movie.

Just saw it a few hours ago. Well, I enjoyed it. Being a girl thst has not seen the cartoon or read the comics, I enjoyed the movie.
My boyfriend enjoyed it as well but had some problems with it. He told me he knew it wasn't going to be exactly like the cartoon he remember when he was planning to see it. Kind of like the Dragonball move. Expect something a bit different then you think.
Scripts and plots will hardly ever be the way it's suppose to be.

the movie was just fun, is all it was.
it took a lot of things from other movies n it was blatent about it.

basicly this introduces the idea of terrorisum to kids
however the comic/cartoon had it's enemy victorys n you didn't see that in many cartoons when one side would lose just as much as the other.
no normaly it's good guys pwn bad guys don't.

You could've taken the name GI Joe out of that film, they only say "GI Joe" once and Hawk refers to them as "Joe's" a few times. Same goes with Cobra, nobody says "Cobra" until the last three minutes or so. Movie could have been called "Cars Raining on Soldiers in Awesome Robot Suits" all the same, but I figure GI Joe would draw more interest.

well the fact the movie is called Rise of cobra as in the movie is about the shift of power from Destro to Cobra commander with Zartan a 3rd party who also atains power in his own way.
the problem is that there always was a 3 way power struggle with cobra commander pritty much in control.

As you saw Zartan knew Cobra commander wanted to control him and was smart to remove that controle but in the end Zartan is in the postion of power where as destro and Cobra commander are under Joe confinement in some X-men style prison.

I am however looking forward to the 2nd movie if the 1st one hasn't fucked up.

I don't recommend Funny People. Watch the Comedian Central showing of all them doing standup, it's much better. I heard the Perfect Getaway was pretty good, a fall back to the old adventure themed movie. I'm looking forward to District 9 and Inglorious Bastards.
