Well, i fianlly got round to doing it, now im in the final stages(as i type) of talking to CM to get the server up and running, hopefully itll be here in the next day or two :lol:

it appears it will not be here as soon as hoped, my PC needs a major RAM Boost to cope with the load of starting the servers, let alone running them(if anyone can tell me how to increase the amount of HDD used instead of temp-writing to the RAM, id be grateful(i mean it uses the HDD as RAM))

thanks, and i didnt know flea, could someone explain?

edit: by major i mean:
My PC has 256Mb PC2100, it says its got 192Mb
im in need of another strip, 512Mb PC2100 or someone who can host the map server(in UK due to timezones, and as long as CM approves)

Flea was a server, on which it was found the servermaster "Perfect-Sin" was running it in a PC room and charging people to play, this was insane since qrRO was made to be free, and then things got worse, he was selling characters, items, zenny and GM positions at his pc room. Flea was the reason for the rush of flip's and n00bs to qrRO. After this server, since CM was losing care for qrRO and was too concerned with his own popularity, other server masters saw that they could get away with this. Thus leading to the downfall of legit servers in qrRO to the point it is today.

And that was your qrRO history lesson by UDSting of the day...

OK, server should be ready to go early next month when i have the money to get more RAM, i ned Â£30, i got Â£0, im waiting for my money to clear at the end of the month.

I am NOT looking for GMs on this server, i will select a few from the other servers who i know and trust(almost definatly not real life friends) i will offer GM status to 4 or 5 people, as that should be enough along with the default GMs on the servers.

Curses! I had extra RAM laying around (extra only because my little barebones system isn't physically large enough to seat more) not too long ago. I already gave it to a friend, or I could have shipped it to you.

In any event, I'm more than eager to see the server you'll be putting up. I also have to echo the "I'll play because your British" sentiment in good nature, because every game or story I've ever played that was hosted or STed by a Brit was killer, especially in comparison to American STs (storytellers) who could rarely get their act together to pull off a good game.

hmm, itll be about the same as Nu, just with a few NPCs moved around, like the warp ones. I would do more, but CM says only NPC moves alowed. BUT ill definately have mass killing or such like events with total PvP quite regurlarly.

Can I be one of the first to know when it's up, so I can get a headstart on bulking up some characters than can survive the legalized serial killings? Not that I'm opposed, I just always lose at PvP. Guess I'm just too much of a nice person. Ehe...

heh, im thinking of turning the PvP on in one of the less used towns, like @go 17 or w/e, a smallish simple layed out one and im hoping that the numbers are not limited like they are in PvP. a quiet town means that less Newbs or low levels get hurt unintentionally.

ALSO, im about to start the server NOW, it means shutting everythin off except firewall and SQL, but im gonna give it a shot, itll tell me EXACTLY how much more RAM ill need, so if you see Dalton up, dont log in for about 10 mins to give it time to get going.(thats if it does at all)

just to let u know, last time i played PVP in towns caused errors and people always rewarp in and use costumes and such, maybe its fixed, but just a warning...
