Missing Sprites

I think it is just me, but I seem to be missing sprites. Only a few of them are showing, most of them come out looking like a pinkish hat or a purplish hair. I have tried reinstalling each and repatching. Any possiblity anyone has or had this problem? Would really appreciate some help.
