well, it DOES depend on where your weapon is. if you already pulled it and you're aiming at me, i'd say my bad @_@ but if it's still need to be drawn, you'll say bye bye  especially if the traget has a knife...

besides, if you shoot someone, he won't die at once you know.. even IF you hit him while he's charging you he still will make at least one attack  plus, the target needn't to be good in martial arts either, just have a knife o_O

thats what i learned when i was at the police for practical course... :P

well, but if you're sure you can do it... B) well, if you're living so dangerous i'd advice you to learn some self defence too, cuz marksmanship is way overrated. it's good for long distanc, not melee fighting

not like i'd ever be caught in a situation where I would actually need to shoot someone

but just saying if it happened B) :gun:

Being in the real thing and in a simulated invironment is a totally different experience...you'd no less piss yourself and get shot in the head before you pull the trigger when you've got a room of fully armored pyscho's in a hot room ready to die.... ;)

hey, i'm not talking about being a CS geek...
Of course simulations are completely different than real-life fire-fights, becuase in fire-fights you actually (and probably) are going to die.

I've actually fired various forms of 9mm pistols, with decent success.

I know a fully (or even partially) trained martial artist can snap both my wrists before I even have time to pull the safety off, but still, if it actually were to happen....

But hey, this is a martial arts topic right? Let's get off guns here...

let's see...my dad (being both a judo and kendo master, amazingly...)taught me basic judo, and I did tae-kwon-do for less than a year. Not much, but I'm not much of a figther anyways.

Got This from my Tae Kwon Do Master, bets defence, not be there.

tae kwon do for me ( of Course im a black belt 5th dan)

i remember a parable my Master told us when we were still beginners,

A man who was a master of three martial arts was in a bar having a drink with his fiance, yhen this gangly man bumped into him causing him to spill his drink into his $300 suit. so in a fit of rage he chalenges the man into a fight. the gangly man said that they settle the argument outside since there's a lady. so they went outside. whewn they were outside, the martial artist did his breathings, the gangly man just stood as if expecting nothing. the martial artist charged, and prepared to make a flying kick when the gangly man pulled a .50 caliber Desert Eagle and said "better learn how to fly cause if your feet touch the ground, you're a dead man"

the best martial art is exercising patience..........
thats the best yet most dificult to learn.

as for guns........

Im a member of the Ateneo de Manila University Practical Shooting Varsity.

i own a HK MP5 navy
M16 A2 ( in the Phils. you have business, u are authorized to have assault weapons)
AK 74
Glock G17
my personal fav, Winchester 12 guage riot gun
Magnum 40 ( packs quite a kick)

i collect Guns, antique ones as well like the german Luger.

i carry a colt .45 in my car going to school. who knows when youre gonna be kidnaped in my country! :D :D :D

no shit, huh?

well...that's freagin amazing

I might want to move to the Phillipines...xD

Well...I made a handgun topic before, but the handgun I'm most familiar with (and I will own when i turn 18) is the sig sauer p226r chambered in the .40SW caliber.

But, anywho...

YOur parable, PrinceLabuta...is quite funny...but... .50AE? That's hard to control, even if you have amazing experience...and firing with one hand will break your wrist.

But w/e, right? xD

the only thing i fire with one hand is the luger.

using two hands increases your accuracycause you have more control of the weapon.

btw, you wouldnt like it here in the phils. too dangerous if your a politician, a businessman, his family or if you are foreigners.

But if you will move here, maybe I can lease you an appartment.

:P :P :P :P :P

where are you in the US anyways?
