first kill monsters and pick up everything they drop
then sell all the stuff to npc's (dont bother players with it)
then get enough to get a casino membership and at least
10 coins (preferably platinum) and then gamble.

with any luck you'll get rich
also watch out for what others drop some of the stuff is
actualy worth some thing

Anyway, if you DO get a GM card, I'd advise you not to sell it, seeing as how alot of people have over 1b.
