Web Hosting?

The News

Postby codemaster » Tue May 31, 2005 8:34 pm

I am thinking of, perhaps, setting up a webhosting possibility for us.
If I am to do this, I need a few people who will be committed in purchasing some of it.

But for now, I'd like to know what things you would be expecting and how much you'd pay for it, such as 1 GB of space and 20 GB transfer for $5 a month or such of that sort.

Well, what do you think about pricing and storage and bandwidth and such?

I think you should start off with a low price, like...dunno 7.00USD a month with like, unlimited upload, and 1~2ishGB of storage and..
Yeah I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about.

I was planning on having various plans ranging from very cheap to somewhat expensive.

just have the standards
like the more they pay, the more features they get
(Regular)
800MB storage
1GB Bandwidth
1 Email Account
(Somewhat more)
2GB Storage
5GB Bandwidth
2 Email Accounts
something like that, make it interesting

need money to pay for the hosting? try adding Google ads to your website. check them out here.
"You believe that there is one God? you do well; the demons also believe, and shudder."
James 2:19

The Question is not whether or not you believe in God, but rather if you believe that His son came to die on the cross for our sins so that we could recieve the gift of Salvation from God.

I believe the latter.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him."
John 3:16-17

Here's what I have as a current idea as a standard plan for my webhosting:

1 GB of Webspace
Over 10 GB of Bandwidth
$9.95 per month
- Unlimited FTP Accounts
- MySQL
- PHP, CGI, Perl, Python, SSI, Crontab, Frontpage Extentions, Curl, GD (Dynamic Image Library), and Streaming Audio/Video
- Webmail
- E-mail Forwarding
- E-mail Auto Response
- Mailing Lists
- SpamAssassin
- IMAP and SMTP protocols
- Hotlink Protection (disallows people from using your bandwidth!)
- phpMyAdmin
- IP Deny Manager
- Custom Error Pages
- Redirection URLs
- AWStats, Webalizer, Raw Log Access, Referrer Logs, Error Logs, Analog
- CPanel Administrative Access

To begin actually starting this hosting plan, I need at least 4-5 people that are absolutely certain that they will join in this hosting plan and (of course) pay. This way I am certain that I won't be losing a big chunk of change on this.
So, if you believe you are in this type of certainty, please respond to this and say so! :)

It is fine that he's posting in here... I wanted more to talk about it anyway.

For those services, I am not sure if I can accept them or not - we can see, I guess.
