HI guyz um i got a problem with my CD-ROM, when i put a CD in it my CD-ROM cant read it!

Any1 knows how to fix this prob?

oh hiyas kevin is ur cd rom connected to ur computer or is it very scratchy in teh shiney side and a bit broken? those r the things that could be unreadable

granted that the CD is not scratched up and that the CD-ROM's IDE or SATA cables are plugged in properly (the power must be plugged in for it to even open), you might want to check a few different things:

1. try another CD; maybe the one you have just is scratched or corrupted or something.
2. try updating the drivers for that drive.
3. if all else fails, you might have to RMA the drive to the retailer or manufacturor, granted that it is still under warranty.

I agree with CM on that one, but if you don't know what an IDE or SATA cable is, I suggest you don't open up your case and mess with them.

lol, i fixed it! all i did was punched the CD ROM and TADA it got fix! thx anyways!
