Server Changes?

Genereal qrRO talk

Postby codemaster » Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:47 pm

As you all may or may not know, I plan on upgrading qrRO here sometime soon. So, as normal, I am open to any suggestions you all might have - feel free to post any positive remarks or ideas.

Thanks ^_^

Myself wrote:
COMPLETED:
- Changed rates to 7/7/7 (for now)
- Changed max level to 125/75
- Add Bunny Headband Quest back in
- Removed Platinum Skill NPC
- Remove Assassination NPC since it was fun, but annoying to some
- Updated PvP Script (various things changed, probably fixed)
- Replaced Healer with Healring
- Remove fscking annoying airship announcements (let me know if we should do something else about these)
- Fix Blackjack Payout
- Remove Coins -> Zeny
- Change party level separation limit to 15
- Add Lord Kaho's Quest back in (even though it is technically a GM item) (added the one with Lord Kaho's Servant back in, not Royal Messenger)
- Changed Kafra Storage Size to 1000
- Change WoE times to something less insane (6-10 every Wednesday & Sunday)
- Check cloner NPC - with the decrease of zeny in the new server structure, it should be fine now (it's really expensive!)
- Make MVP rooms harder by having 150% of the current monsters in there
- Check jobchanger NPC
- Make the jobchanger cost money (now costs 30k zeny for 1st class and 100k for other classes)
- Free Ice Cream available in Lutie a little bit south
- Orphanage NPC (to let novices become babies)
- Card Gambler NPC moved to Comodo Casino (and now accepts coins instead of zeny)
- Adjust Custom qrRO Items to be more like normal items (lowered defense for wings, masks, and headbands)
- Created "Fake" Kaho Horn to give to players (instead of giving them the over-powered normal ones)
- Different prizes for qrRO Comodo Casino (Fallen Wings, Angel Wings, Devil Wings, Angeling Wings, "Fake" Kaho Horn)

TODO:
- Respace NPCs around Prontera Square
- Beta Test! (Test Rates, etc)
- Get Sleep :)

On that note, shouldn't you also rearrange forum moderators? Maybe I don't see anything but...why have people moderate who are never here?

Well with the 5024 members get their own army system, in which numbers are always changing, puts stress on the MySQL DB.

Current needed things and whatnot:

1. PVP room i think....
2. SL "Happy Break" glitch, doesn't seem to work with my 255 >_>
3. Update to whatever is latest possible?
4. Remove that annoying airship announcement that goes all over the place
5. annnd anything else I can think of later
Mune - Soul Linker (Main)
Kiro - Champion
Xian - Taekwon (Might be stargladiator)
All 3 together is the spirit of martial arts!

As far as I'm concerned the forums are just as important as the RO, and they need to be fixed just as much as the game does.

  • Kafra Storage raised to 1000
  • Kafra in Pront Square
  • Warper to have New Dungeons such as Ice caves
  • Obviously, Fix the item glitch, it is annoying
  • Fix the PvP room of course
  • WoE only be 3 times a week, one time on those 3 days
  • Healer changed back to Healring
That is all I have right now.

EDIT

Here are some more...
  • Custom Headgear Quests
  • Orphan System
Custom Headgear quests for headgears which are currently unobtainable by players other than from events.

Orphan system, 1/1 Novices would be able to choose to become an Oprhan and become a 1/1 Baby. The baby, of course, would not get any skills from a regular adoption.

Maybe we should make one of those Five Year Plans, but shorter, and simply like have a week of constant updating, events, make some nice reliable GMs, and encourage everybody to branch off and have their friends join? It'd be like an economic boom on a timeline.

We could call it Kane Week or something.

Then make it annual.

Maybe I'm going to far.

Why not be optimistic?
Plus with the college semester coming to an end, several of us will have a lot of free time on our hands.

Why not think big?

Yes the key to keeping players is well activity. Activity is thus obtained through active players and gms who moderate and no abuse. I have a feeling that soon as it bounces back GMs from way back when will say "Hey where is my GM spot" I think they should be cut since they dont even post here anymore. My idea of a 5 year plan but shorter is. Get the server running, new and improved nice looking sleek client. Open up the server max cap to about 200 or so. And have players like Aiken, Xaris, Hagios, Bunny, Killerodeman, myself and so many more who still post here and watch the forum to actually draw the crowd back. Pick one or two trustworthy people to be gm. Get some events going. Scheduled events not just random ones, so people know when they are going to happen. Once a good server starts to boom the fun dont stop, hell I'll even pitch in money to your cause if you really mean to get it back up and runnin. Some of us finished college and all we do is come home to our wives and chill anyway I got free time...except on wednesday got Lamas classes or whatever for the wife.

I agree with Sky, we need to reform many things. Particularly, delagating the tasks of Moderators and maybe a GM to someone or some people who actually are here, and care.

I don't want to suggest anyone because that should be up to cm, and I hate politics.

If you are reading this! We are the future of qrro! Help! Thanks. ^_^

Lol. Perhaps to watch, but participating...gets old real quick. Just find someone who will do what is needed and then put the power back when they are done.

I agree with Hagios, picking someone that is on the forum actively to moderate would be best than polling forever in the day.
