If you do not know who Kevin Mitnik is, here's a nutshell summary: Mitnik was a very skilled social engineer ("hacking people" if you will), and basically he was caught and was unable to even use the internet for a number of years; he's back now and is running his own security company to assist companies in becoming more secure. Very nifty stuff.
Anywho, he has written a list of security advice for you in a few short steps.
